The Anadarko Basin is a long-term contributor to US oil production, and it has hosted numerous notable oil fields including six >100MMBBLS oil fields.

It is one of seven major onshore US hydrocarbon basins, with unconventional reservoirs in the Greater Anadarko Basin holding an estimated 16 billion barrels of oil in unrisked technically recoverable resources.

The IHS estimates that only approximately 20% of the Anadarko Basin’s tier one locations have been drilled and developed.
